Are you looking for a bit that’s well balanced and provides tongue relief? Then this is the bit for you! Solid cheeks for stability that moderately curve backward, while the medium port has a good deal of tongue relief.
This low leverage bit is ideal for a horse with a good mouth and neck reins consistently. Sweet iron is a preferred mouth piece material because it naturally rusts into a light patina to create a sweet taste for the horse, This makes the bit more acceptable by increasing salivation for a supple mouth. Cheeks curve backward, but not as much as on the 651 Reinsman "C" Bit. Stage C bits are built for riders and horses who love neck reining. Horses who respond well to poll pressure are in Stage C. A favorite among trail riders, cutters, reiners, and versatility trainers.

This has made the biggest difference to my saddle. I don’t have a typical horn! My horn is covered in a hard, slick almost resin material.
