Introducing our 0113-1000 Josey Go Around with Noseband. This bit features a three-piece twisted wire dog bone mouthpiece and a rope noseband. The copper dog bone keeps the mouth moist, while the twisted wire provides a slight bite for the horse who tends to get heavy on the bridle. Equipped with 7 1/2" cheeks, this bit is an excellent option if you want more bend, lift, and moderate rate.

Martha Josey is quite the legend within the barrel racing industry through her vast accomplishments and highly sought-after year-round clinics. She is an 11-Time NFR Qualifier in Barrel Racing, 1980 NFR World Champion, WPRA and NBHA Champion, Olympic Gold Medalist Barrel Racer, and World-Renowned Clinician. Martha and her team took their time designing each bit in her line to aid in the development and growth of each one of her students.

"These bits have proven themselves, not only in our Josey clinics, schools, and seminars but also in competitions worldwide." - Martha Josey

IDEAL FOR:
• The horse that needs additional help with rating down when approaching the barrel.
• The horse that tends to get heavy on the bridle.
• People looking to achieve more lift and bend in timed events.
• People looking to give their horse more response time in timed events.

WHY YOU’LL LOVE IT:
• The noseband conforms well and works on the bridge of the nose for rate and added control.
• Three-piece mouthpiece offers a more even distribution of pressure while also aiding in preventing the “nutcracker” effect on the jaw.
• Copper dogbone promotes salivation for a more soft supple mouth.
• Twisted pieces for added “bite” for the horse that gets heavy on the bridle.
• Gag action sends pre-signals before pressure is applied.

HELPFUL TIPS:
• Applies pressure to the tongue and bars when pressure is applied to the reins.
• Curb chain tightness allows for the customization of pressure.
• Start loose and increase tightness for additional control or increased signaling.
• The waxed rope nose starts rigid and softens over time, so you may add vet wrap or mule tape to the rope nose until it fully breaks in to reduce severity; this is optional.
• This bit falls into our Stage D category; Stage D bits are used to achieve refinement through subtle cues and quick communication. Characteristics in Stage D include increased leverage, more sophisticated mouthpieces coupled with rope nosebands, and may incorporate higher ports.

MORE DETAILS:
• All leverage bits should be used with a curb chain to function correctly. Without a curb chain, a shanked bit can rotate back toward the rider. Curb chains should stop the shank’s rotation at approximately 45 degrees.
• Cheeks are made of medical-grade stainless steel to prevent rust and guarantee longevity.
• Each bit is closely inspected by a team of expert craftsmen who pride themselves on the quality of their workmanship.
• Three-piece twisted mouthpiece with copper dogbone center
• 7 1/2" Cheek
• 5 1/2" Mouth

Reinsman Bit Stages

Stage A= These bits are great for starting horses, training, or maintaining steady contact. Aspects include direct reining, non-leverage Loose Rings and Dee Rings with mouthpiece diameters 5/16” and over.

Stage B =Moving from Direct Reining to Neck Reining? Stage B is all about transition, with the introduction of leverage and curb pressure. Short Shanked bits and Half-Gags comprise Stage B.

Stage C =Horses who respond well to poll pressure are in Stage C. Features include solid mouthpieces and cheek attachments, and swivel cheeks with jointed mouthpieces or low to medium ports

Stage D =Stage D is about refinement, subtle cues and quick communication. Characteristics include increased leverage, more sophisticated mouthpieces, and may also incorporate higher ports.

Stage E =When your horse enters Stage E – he’s asking for some time with the Pros. Here tiny twists, very high ports, and highly complex mouthpieces are key components
